Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. No cracks or chips. Some light surface wear. Back of plate is a little dirty.
Subject: Painted with designs related to people and animals fishing. Middle panel has a green kingfisher bird (kawasemi) flying over a riverside scene. The outer panels have scenes of two rats that picked a fish from a goldfish bowl, another panel has a scene of a man fishing with a rod, and the remaining panels have tortoiseshell, paulownia, flower, and origami folded paper butterfly designs. The reverse has underglaze blue and white designs of auspicious objects.
