Subject: Rustic wooden manju netsuke of two lacquer painted cicadas on the side of a tree. The top appears to be a mostly natural piece of wood, while the reverse has some carved texture and himotoshi (cord holes). Robert called this piece ""Driftwood " with lacquer insects"
