Origin/Maker: Fukagawa Koransha, Arita, Japan. Koransha maker's marks on base of orchid (Ran) and 深川製 (Fukagawa-sei (Fukagawa Made))
Koransha - In 1875, aiming to exhibit at the Philadelphia World's Fair the following year, Koransha was established in Arita as an organization where potters came together to handle everything from manufacturing to sales. Each pottery was produced by a different kiln, and they all bore a common orchid mark, along with their own kiln mark or company name.

Subject: Underglaze blue and white (sometsuke) decorated plate additionally with unusual underglaze green and purple, and overglaze painted designs in red, green, white. yellow, purple. and gold. With designs of some small thatched roof huts under a willow tree, with iris flowers, dandelions, chrysanthemums, and grasses
