About Oyama Pottery <Kukogama>The kiln was opened in 1970, reviving the Oyama ware that had ceased production during the Taisho era. The pottery produced is a combination of simplicity and modern sensibility. They mainly use iron glazes to fire Tamahagane Yotenmoku, which is characterized by its metallic luster and varied texture, as well as celadon, oil drop, even kiln, and ash glaze.
