Origin/Maker: Yoshidaya Ko-Kutani style ware, Kutani ware, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
"Kutani" 九谷 maker's mark on base (but written in reverse as 谷九 (read from right to left) indicating it dates from before WWII)
Size: 1 5/8" tall (4.1275 cm), 4 1/4" diameter (10.795 cm)
Weight: 3.6 oz (103 g)

Condition: Item is used in fair condition commensurate with age, see photos. Some light surface wear. Two original to manufacture glaze defects on the upper brown rim, one of which has a tiny chip.
Subject: Glazed in Yoshidaya Ko-Kutani style with yellow, dark cobalt blue, green, purple, red, and gold, with designs of two origami cranes and the three friends of winter (Sho Chiku Bai; Pine, Bamboo, & Plum, the Three Friends of Winter, three plants admired for their steadfastness, perseverance, and resilience, as all are strong through the winter) on the inside, and designs of clouds and bats (a symbol of good fortune) around the outside
